Mario Debaene (°1964) completed an MA in audio-visual arts and animation at the KASK [Royal Academy for Fine Arts] in Gent. He has worked both as a cameraman and a designer for film and books as well as a typographer in cooperation with Gert Dooreman, among others. Debaene has also worked as an illustrator/cartoonist for the Standaard and Le Monde newspapers and for magazines such as recto:verso and Humo. He now lectures in animation at the KASK and is a permanent illustrator/typographer and designer for numerous cultural organizations and theatre companies such as Wunderbaum and Volkskunde Vlaanderen. He has designed a number of posters and publications for Simon Allemeersch’s performances and plays.
